At Kirhtech, we are carrying out a comprehensive project for the manufacture and installation of 45 air showers for a leading battery plant in northern France. Our goal is to provide highly efficient decontamination systems that, thanks to their sanitary sandwich panel exterior finish, integrate perfectly into the clean rooms of this facility. To achieve this, we combine careful detail engineering with state-of-the-art technology, such as high velocity air flows and a multi-stage filtration system capable of retaining the finest particles to ensure a contamination-free production environment.
Shower models for personnel and materials
Depending on the needs and circulation flows in the plant, we have developed two models of air showers: one for personnel and one for the transport of materials.
- Personnel air showers: Designed to safeguard operators accessing critical areas, they include glass doors with stainless steel frames and an electromagnetic interlock system that prevents opening the entrance door if the exit door is already unlocked. The interior space is optimized for the safe passage of people, ensuring efficient decontamination in reduced times.
- Air showers for materials: Designed for the passage of larger loads, they have high-speed roll-up doors that facilitate the entry and exit of equipment or bulky goods without compromising cleanliness. Their reinforced structure allows maneuvering with total reliability, minimizing the risk of contamination.
Technical highlights
- AISI 304 stainless steel interior with LED lighting: This finish offers high resistance to corrosion and facilitates visual inspection of the decontamination process.
- Air nozzles up to 30 m/s: Located on walls and ceilings, they propel air at high velocity to effectively dislodge and carry away accumulated particles.
- Multi-stage filtration: Consists of F5 pre-filters that retain coarse particles and H14 HEPA filters with an efficiency of 99.995%, capable of capturing contaminants down to 0.3 microns.
- Advanced touch screen control and cycle logging: Allows fine tuning of parameters such as exposure times, as well as monitoring and documenting each decontamination cycle.
- Configurable cycle: The process duration can be adapted to the operational requirements of each production line, balancing productivity and purity levels.
- Interlock system and safety sensors: Ensures that the doors remain locked until the end of the cycle, preventing the spread of particles to the outside of the shower.

Custom engineering and phased installation
Our approach ranges from the identification of specific requirements to manufacturing according to rigorous quality standards. In addition, to optimize lead times, each unit is installed as soon as production is completed, allowing for a progressive commissioning that minimizes any impact on the flow of operations.
